Dr. William Harvey
Dentist
Dr. William Harvey, a fifth-generation Kinstonian, was honored to have the opportunity to move back to his hometown to serve the community where he was raised. Dr. Harvey graduated from Parrott Academy, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Dental School. Since graduation, Dr. Harvey has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education courses beyond the required fifteen hours as bringing the most comprehensive, up-to-date dental care to his patients is his passion.
Dr. Mackenzie Brown
Dentist
Dr. Mackenzie Brown was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. She moved to North Carolina to attend NC State University, where she was awarded a full athletic scholarship to compete on the gymnastics team. Dr. Brown graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences as Valedictorian of her class. She then chose to pursue a career in dentistry and was awarded the Carolina Panthers graduate scholarship for student-athletes. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Brown volunteers with Give Kids A Smile and has helped the local boy scouts earn their dental badge. She enjoys all aspects of family and cosmetic dentistry and also has a special passion for treating children. She strives to create a comfortable environment for her patients and provide them with the highest quality of care.
Outside of the office, Dr. Brown is married to Dr. Matt Brown, who practices as an orthodontist at Brown Orthodontics in Kinston. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends and family, going to the beach, playing tennis, taking care of their newest addition, their daughter named Lila, and going for family walks with their Goldendoodle, Cruiser!

Dr. Mary Bec Keith-Johnson
Dentist
Dr. Mary Bec Keith-Johnson was born and raised in Kinston and is thrilled to practice in her hometown. She is the daughter of Earl and Mary Margaret Keith. After graduating from Kinston High School, she went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. She then obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine with honors from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After completing dental school, Dr. Keith-Johnson completed an extensive residency at the Fayetteville, NC VA Medical Center where she expanded her scope of practice and furthered her implant training.
Outside of the office, Dr. Keith-Johnson is married to her husband Eric. Besides dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to new places, boat rides with her husband, and relaxing at the beach. Dr. Keith-Johnson enjoys being part of the Harvey Dental family and serving the community that helped raise her.

Dr. Whitney C. Mitchell
Dentist
Dr. Whitney C. Mitchell was born and raised in Greene County, NC, and graduated from Greene Central High School in 2000. Her parents are retired Judge Lonnie Carraway and the late Dr. Cheryl T. Carraway. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2004 with a double major of Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Dr. Whitney continued her education at Tufts Dental School in Boston, MA and graduated with a DMD in 2009.
Dr. Whitney has previously been employed by Dr. Cheryl T. Carraway, Greene Dental Services, and Morgan Family Dentistry. She is excited to be returning closer to home to serve the patients of Harvey Dental.
When not in the office, Dr. Whitney enjoys reading, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her husband, Trey, two boys, Wyatt and Sawyer, and dogs, Maggie and River, keep life busy and fun!
Dr. Caitlin Melvin
Dentist
Dr. Caitlin Melvin was born and raised in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. She attended East Carolina University where she graduated with a degree in Public Health Studies and a minor in Business Administration. Dr. Melvin has wanted to be a dentist since she was seven years old, and loved being a pirate so much she chose to attend ECU’s School of Dental Medicine where she graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Melvin was awarded the North Carolina Dental Trade Alliance Scholarship, inducted into the Servire Society, and was a North Carolina Albert Schweitzer Fellow, where she volunteered in the Greenville community to start oral health initiatives and toothbrushing programs in schools.
Dr. Caitlin enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about creating positive experiences for her patients. She is committed to continuing her education so that she can provide the highest quality evidence based dentistry to her patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Melvin and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends and family, boat rides at the beach and the lake, working out, and going on family walks with their Golden Retriever, Emmy!
